UDBS Open House

Thursday May 9, 3-6pm, CFA 200

Please join us for an Open House to review the developmental models, prototypes, and technical representation of work being utilized by the 2012/2013 Urban Design Build Studio (UDBS) in preparation for the construction of three projects: 1) A Mobile Digital Fabrication Lab, 2) A Collaborative Construction Workshop/Educational Facility, and 3) A Proof of Concept Prototype for Residential Enclosure Systems. This year's work, framed within the context of CONSTRUCTING CAPACITY, has focused on expanding the impact of UDBS community partners through the development of infrastructure that can sustain future programming, production, and revenue. The work has been generously funded by Ford Motor Company, the Heinz Endowments, and AutoDesk Corporation. Exhibited work will illustrate a range of study that has been developed since August 2012. The body of work includes urban analysis, programming, iterative design through full scale prototyping, building performance simulation, and construction documentation.

The UDBS Open House/Reception will be held at the South End of CFA 200, in the UDBS space from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday May 9th. There will be a designated area in CFA 214 open for review of the Southern Exposure Proof of Concept Prototype. All are welcome and refreshments will be served.

Note: At 5:00pm there will be an informational meeting/presentation in CFA 206A for third and fourth year students interested in pursuing UDBS work during the 2013/2014 year.
