Fallingwater Education Internship

Fallingwater, the architectural masterpiece designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is seeking a summer intern to work with Fallingwater education programs.

Position Duration:  Summer of 2012 (schedule will include working some weekends and holidays)

Location:  Mill Run, PA

Job Description:  This is a unique opportunity to work at a world-renowned architectural site.  The education intern will work directly with the public tour staff to interpret Fallingwater and aspects of the grounds through guided tours.  The candidate will also assist with on-site residencies and educational programs.  In addition, the intern will complete an independent project focused on engaging people at Fallingwater.

Qualifications: We are looking for qualified students who are either in their senior year or are in a graduate program in architecture, landscape or interior architecture, architecture history, museum studies, or art education.  In addition to the above education requirements, the successful applicant will be able to work independently, have good communication skills, and good computer skills including familiarity with social media communications.  He/she will be able to demonstrate a cooperative work ethic, will possess good interpersonal skills, and will be able to work effectively with a wide range of people.  Experience teaching is a plus.

Pay:  $10 per hour plus free, shared, on-site housing.
