Bio

Jennifer Lucchino, RA, is Owner and Co-founder of inter*ARCHITECTURE, a design studio dedicated to the exploration and implementation of contemporary architectural expression through architecture, community involvement and development.  

In practice, Jennifer seeks to combine her knowledge of architecture and design with her passion for the arts, language and diverse cultures.  Prior to founding inter*ARCHITECTURE, Jennifer's professional experience includes employment by the San Diego Padres as Architectural Advisor for Ballpark Planning (1999-2000), as well as employment at the Pittsburgh-based firms Damianosgroup and Astorino.  During her tenure with these firms, Jennifer worked on such noted projects as the new ballpark for the San Diego Padres, The Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Vatican City and the Early Childhood Center at the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children.  In addition, Jennifer consulted with the Mattress Factory on planning and design studies for their Office Expansion that was completed in Fall 2003.  

Jennifer recognizes the importance of community and endeavors to find opportunities to contribute.  As an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Jennifer has taught First and Second Year Design Studio since 2004.  In addition, Jennifer coordinated and taught in a study abroad program in Venice, Italy during the Summer 2008 and has taught in the Pre-College Summer Program.  Recently, Jennifer co-founded a local chapter of Architecture for Humanity (2009).  Further, she was recognized in 2005 as one of Pittsburgh's 40 Under 40 for her commitment to shaping our region and making it a better place for everyone.  Jennifer's volunteer participation includes serving as a consultant for the Community Design Center of Pittsburgh (1998-present), participating in “Alternate Pittsburgh: A Design Charrette” organized by the Carnegie Museum of Art (2005) and serving in a variety of capacities at the Mattress Factory (1996-2002).

Jennifer is an architect licensed in Pennsylvania since March 2000.  Jennifer attended architecture school at Rice University where she graduated with an MArch degree in 1994.  Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University in 1988 with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies (with a concentration on English Literature and Art History) and a minor in Italian.  Upon graduation, Jennifer studied at the University of Paris IV and received an annual diploma in language and civilization in 1989.
