Revenue from selling food during Malaysian Food Festival. This is to cover some of the costs of advertising, preparing and serving food as well as cleaning up.

Annual membership fees for current and new members. Open to any CMU students interested in experiencing Malaysian cultures. May change slightly depending on the number of new members we get in the coming semesters.

Fundings received from UC late night events.

Late night funding is uncertain from year to year and so the JFC does not account for this when calculating your revenue expectation. Having said this, you should still seek this funding.

“The JFC will fund $100 per semester for food for rush/recruitment, $2 per person per semester for meeting food, $200 per semester for food at events, and will not fund personal meals. The remaining costs must be covered by fundrasing. We are not counting your Food festival in this amount, as the JFC is intrigued by your organization's trajectory, and would like to see you grow. Make us proud"

We realized that massive advertising campaign is needed due to the lack of publicity for the Malaysian Food Festival last year. We decided to carry out more chalking as well as having posters in more areas around campus. As a result, we would need a lot of colored chalks as well as funds for colored and non-colored posters.

Committee members have decided to make the upcoming Malaysian Food Festival the biggest event for Budaya. As a result, we will be preparing more Malaysian dishes and drinks this year. Instead of 10 dishes as in the previous year, we will be preparing approximately 15 dishes for this year's event. Raw material such as chicken, meat and rice constitute the biggest expenses.

The JFC wants to see this be a BIG event, so make sure you publicize this well, and get the word out there!!!

These are mostly utensils such as forks, spoons, plates, gloves, napkins and bowls. In addition, we will need a lot of charcoal for the preparation of our satay dish.

We will need new barbeque grills for our satay dish. One of our old toaster has broken down so we will be looking into buying a new one. A new ice blender is also needed since we will be making an ice dessert for this year's event.

Annual Thanksgiving dinner for Budaya members as well as any CMU students and faculty staying in CMU over Thanksgiving. Second biggest event for fall semester after Malaysian Food Festival. We will be looking into preparing 4-5 turkeys as usual as well as a variety of other traditional thanksgiving dishes. We also plan to incorporate some Malaysian dishes into the dinner so that any non-Malaysians who attend the dinner have the opportunity to sample some Malaysian cuisines.

A spring-semester dinner to celebrate one of the biggest events in Chinese culture. Since Chinese makes up more than a third of Malaysian population, Chinese New Year is one the biggest cultural celebration in Malaysia besides Hari Raya. Most of the expenses involve raw material such as chicken, meat, fish and rice in order to prepare authentic Chinese-Malaysian dishes. Open to all CMU population who wishes to learn more about the Chinese culture especially in the bigger context of the Malaysian culture.

Our biggest event for spring semester. Hari Raya is the biggest cultural event in Malaysia and continues to be celebrated by Malaysians abroad. Most of the expenses are for the traditional Hari Raya dinner which will include several traditional Malay dishes such as rendang, curry, ketupat, satay, nasi lemak, lemang, ayam goreng and ayam masak merah. In addition to food, we will be preparing several traditional Malay drinks such as teh tarik, bandung, teh ais and limau sirap.

At this point the JFC is unwilling to fund $80 for a movie night as we believe it is too expensive and can easily be done for cheaper. If you have evidence (ie reciepts) which suggest that this event does cost $80 you may bring them in and appeal.

Refreshments for those attending while getting to know more about Budaya and the Malaysian culture. This is usually held together with the Malaysian Independence day which falls on Aug 31.

Malaysian food and drinks for CMU population who attend the traditional game night.

Need to purchase new traditional games from Malaysia since the some of the old ones are missing/broken. Specifically, we need to purchase new gasings, bola takraw, and congkak boards.

We believe you recieved funding for board games last year and so we will not fund new ones. The old games should still be good.
