Board Member Programs

Object Code Requested Recommended Final Description
Ops-Event Supplies (+) $1,800.00 $0.00 $0.00

This year we are implementing a policy that each board member is required to plan one event a semester. This could be taking charge of and enhancing an already scheduled event (like a themed Shabbat dinner), or it could be putting on a new program (such as a Yoga event or a holiday-themed event). 9 board members: 18 events/year * $100/event = $1800.

We cannot spend money on an event that we do not know about

Sub-Total $1,800.00 $0.00 $0.00

Shabbat Dinners on Campus

Object Code Requested Recommended Final Description
Food-Refreshments for Events (+) $3,000.00 $2,000.00 $2,000.00

We plan to have 3 Shabbat dinners on campus each semester. The food is kosher and purchased from a woman in Squirrel Hill. These Shabbat dinners are integral to JSA's mission of spreading awareness of our club at CMU and of providing an environment in which Jews and non-Jews alike can gather together on campus for a delicious meal and cultural celebration. In Fall 2013, the number of students attending (both Jewish and non) grew with each dinner, and we plan to attract even more students in 2014-15. 6 dinners/year * $500/dinner = $3000.

The JFC will fund $100 per semester for food for rush/recruitment, $200 per semester for food at events, $5 per person per semester for food for general body meetings, and $15 per person per event for food at a cultural event, at a cap to 2 events.
