Competition fees are the cost of registering, performing members, etc. Application costs also apply. Ranges between $25 - $50 per competition applied to. We will be applying to a total of 8-10 competitions.

don't think you should be competing as a first year group, if this expense is incurred next year, go to Senate for a special allocations

Travel expenses are associated with going to competition. CMU Raasta will be travelling around the country, including places such as Maryland, Philly, Miami, etc. An estimation of 6 cars for $40 a day for 2 days = $480 per competition. Raasta plans on competing in two such competitions through the year.

Hotel stay is necessary in order to participate in competition. We will be staying approximately two days at each competition (one day prior will be the team mixers and the day of competition). An estimation of 7 rooms at $60 per night (4 to a room) for 2 nights = $840 per trip. This cost is approximated for 2 competitions

In a team of 16, we will estimate an approximation of $15 per person per day of competition. Since competitions include two days, it will be a total of $480 per competition. Therefore, we are estimating a total of $960 for two competitions.

Misc. expenses include other expenses we may face in terms of props. Items include tape and glow-in-the dark spray paint for dandiyas, speakers, team shirts/jackets, etc.

Small sponsors include local Pittsburgh vendors who donate to the team. Includes places such as Kiva Han, Pamela's Diner, etc.

Medium sized sponsors include corporate sponsors such as Viteos Corporation, TATA Inc, Infosys, etc. We expect to raise about $1500 from these sponsors in return for promotion and advertisement.

This $1000 comes from public donations and performances. Family and friends are a part of this fund. We plan on raising this $1000 by asking people we know, fans, etc.

Membership dues will be collected from everyone. Approximately $30 will be collected from each of the 16 performing members.

A vital supply in Raas is Dandiyas, the twirling sticks used as a part of the dance. In order to get the number of Dandiyas that will cover a year, it will cost $50.

In order to perform, makeup is an essential part of a Raas costume. Makeup (ex: eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, lipstick) are all required on performance days. In order to supply a team of 16 , the approx amount spent on makeup will be $450 per year.

Jewelry is an essential part of the traditional Raas outfit. Jewelry is an essential part of a Raas costume. The approximate cost of one jewelry set is $25 and we will be purchasing 8 such sets, one for each of the girls on the team.

Raas costumes are extremely intricate and have to be tailored and shipped from India. The average cost of one costume is approximately $50. In a team of 16, the projected cost of all costumes combined would be $800.

In order to get a full 8-minute mix created for a school year, it will cost $250. This will require services outsourced to professionals who will mix and create the music necessary for us. This will include various mixes for campus performances (DS, TSA, Mayur Show, etc) and competitions.
