Expenditures

Object Code Requested Recommended Final Description
Ops-Non-Promotional Paper, Printing, and Pub. (+) $20.00 $20.00 $20.00

Printing allowance to cover the colour pamphlets FAQ about the Muslim community and Islamic resources in Pittsburgh that are available every orientation session and at the Activities Fairs both semesters.

Equip-Clothing (+) $75.00 $75.00 $75.00

We intend to produce 50 pins one for each member to attach to clothing with our organization's name printed on them. This is in lieu of t-shirts because of the Islamic dress code not always allowing members to feel comfortable in t-shirts. This is also a very cost-effictive way of displaying that we are from one organization. These pins will be useful at events that are open to all of campus, to denote which members questions can be directed to.

Equip-Non-Capital Equipment (+) $75.00 $75.00 $75.00

Purchasing resourceful books and other media to put on the University Center's Prayer Room shelf. This would include books such as "Marriage and Morals in Islam," "The American Muslim's Guide to Islam," "An Illustrated guide to Understanding Islam." Included media would be "Little Mosque on the Prairie" season one which is a Canadian comedy about a small town of Muslims and their day to day lives. These named titles explain Islamic codes of life with ease so that the general public may read them if they so choose.

Equip-Non-Capital Equipment (+) $20.00 $20.00 $20.00

Every year on Cedileh weekend, the Mayur organization and the MSA host an Eid-Diwali event. We are given a small table to have an activity and we will use this amount to purchase decorative lights that are symbolic both to the Eid celebration and to the Diwali celebration. Last year we purchased a Morroccan lamp that will also be used at this event in conjunction with the new lights we will purchase.

Food Recruitment (+) $100.00 $100.00 $100.00

For recruitment we typically have pizzas for all new members.

Food-Refreshments for General Body Meetings (+) $125.00 $125.00 $125.00

Food and Refreshments for small social events and general body meetings

Food-Refreshments for Events (+) $30.00 $30.00 $30.00

On Eid we give out chocolates and cards to professors and other faculty informing them of our holiday.

Sub-Total $445.00 $445.00 $445.00
