In 2024, these doctoral fellows were asked to reflect on these videos. Here's what they had to say!
"In the years since this video was originally published, we've seen growing support for clean energy sources such as wind and solar, coupled with rapid deployment of these technologies. Yet despite that, opinions on clean energy tend to be mediated by other lenses, such as political beliefs, and many places in the U.S. have experienced opposition to specific clean energy or transmission projects. Accordingly, communication and public engagement remain critical. In particular, there is strong evidence that communication from a trusted messenger and perceived procedural fairness of siting decisions are essential to translating general community support for clean energy into successful projects in our communities. The energy transition is not just about technology; it's about people too!" -Brian Sergi
