SPARCS Tips

Following are this week's tips which will help navigate these changes -

  • Prepare Letter Activity - What is this? I’m glad you asked… There are many times that solicitations have terms that CMU would like to negotiate or have specific certifications/requirements. In many of these cases, a letter needs to be processed within CMU. Sometimes the letter is signed by OSP and added directly to your submission. Other times these letters generate a statement or separate letter that needs to be generated by OSP or ORIC and included with your submission. Here is a list of letters currently available to this activity:
    • PI Certification – IARPA
    • CMU OCI Statement
    • CMU OCI Statement – NIJ
    • Cover Letter
NOTE: DOD Proposals will ALWAYS need a Cover Letter
    • PI Certification
    • CMU OCI Statement – DARPA or IARPA
    • Subcontractor OCI Statement – DARPA or IARPA
    • PI Certification – DARPA
    • PI Certification - SEI

It is very important to read the solicitation (BAA/Program Announcement) very carefully to identify if a statement or letter of this nature is required.

  • Do you need to request an Early Award? Then the place you want to go is the Generate Template The partially completed Early Award request forms are able to be generated by. Once you use the Generate Template activity to generate an Early Award, remember to get the appropriate signatures and then upload the signed document to the SPARCS funding proposal via the Request OSP Action activity.
