Where quantitative research meets commodity market practice
Established in partnership with the MSCF Program and the Mathematical Sciences Department, the Commodities Quant Lab at Carnegie Mellon University advances quantitative research, thought leadership, and applied student projects focused on global commodity markets.
Led by Ilia Bouchouev, the Lab connects faculty, students, researchers, and industry practitioners to explore how modern quantitative methods can deepen understanding of physical and financial commodity markets.
Through research papers, capstone projects, practitioner forums, and sponsor-supported initiatives, CQL creates a bridge between academic innovation and real-world commodity trading practice.
