60 Seconds to Better Security: What is IoT Transcript

What is the IoT, also known as the Internet of Things. Let's play!

The IoT stands for the Internet of Things -the countless internet connected devices that track and store data about us and our activities. Fitness trackers are a great example of IoT devices. In this house, you can see a smart thermostat, security cameras, and other appliances that connect over a network. These IoT devices may interact with our computers, smartphones, and tablets sending alerts and notifications. Some IoT devices improve safety, but they also carry risks. A weak connection between devices could be hacked by criminals causing serious harm. You see, the IoT also includes critical machines used in healthcare, manufacturing, and more. A hacked health monitor could put someone in real danger. Security is no game, but learning about IoT security can help protect your data, your systems, and you. When it comes to cybersecurity we all need to level up.
