How can we organize photos based on where they were taken?

In the age of smartphone cameras and DSLRs, users take thousands of photos to document their experiences. Often, finding just the right shot from extensive collections can be difficult and time-consuming.

The Solution

The app Places.io organizes photos by sorting capture locations. Places.io will query a user’s Google Photos account, utilizing Google Photo’s EXIF geolocation metadata to present the photo collection overlaid on a map. The user can filter photos by date and quickly see how many photos were taken in a particular location.
