Motus

How can bicycles be made safer for cyclists and drivers?

The Solution

Motus is a bicycle attachment that allows cyclists to communicate with other commuters to improve safety on the roads. The attachment includes a joystick-style turn signal, which blinks left or right lights on the rear of the bike, as well as brake lights that react to the bicycle's handbrake. Motus also features a blind spot detector, using motion detection to alert cyclists of the obstacles around them. By using the same language that drivers use to communicate their stops and turns, Motus allows cyclists to confidently and safely navigate urban streets.
