The playtest sign-up list will be used by Carnegie Mellon students, faculty, and staff to recruit playtesters to help students test projects. Such testing is considered product development rather than research.
For cases involving human subjects research, students are required to follow a more formal process governed by Carnegie Mellon's Institutional Review Board (IRB).
As part of product development, the students may wish to gather pictures and video. You may be asked to fill out an audio-visual permission form. However, these forms will always be optional and not required for playtesting.
Do You Represent a School or Other Large Organization?
If you represent a large group, school, or other organization that would like to participate in a CMU Playtesting event, email etc-playtest-coordinator@andrew.cmu.edu with your information.
