Carnegie Mellon University

Master of Science (MS) in Additive Manufacturing (AM)

The Master of Science in Additive Manufacturing (MSAM) is a two-semester full-time degree program designed to educate students in the engineering science required to understand and advance additive manufacturing (AM) and provide hands-on experience with designing, adapting and building parts using current AM technology. The program combines fundamental understanding of the underlying science with practical instruction in the technologies of additive manufacturing through classroom and laboratory coursework.

Students will normally complete their program within two full-time academic semesters. Nevertheless, the program expects to accommodate students who wish to pursue the MS on a part-time basis while continuing to work. Please note that immigration regulations do not allow Carnegie Mellon University to issue visa documents for the part-time MSAM program. The program is glad to receive applications from students with diverse backgrounds and from individuals with work experience.
