Tartan Testing Progress Update
As we get closer to the start of the Spring semester, Carnegie Mellon University continues to ramp up the operations of our Tartan COVID-19 Asymptomatic Testing Program. Thanks to the participation of many members of our community, the program is steadily growing and improving.

Updates to the CMU Experience This Spring
As we embark on the spring semester still impacted by COVID-19, we do so with the knowledge and experiences gained from a successful fall semester in hybrid mode. Although life as a Carnegie Mellon student is of course different living through a pandemic, I am so proud of how our students have created new ways of coming together to enrich our university culture and explore your passions.

First Two Weeks Will Be Remote Only; Guide for Spring Semester Planning
As part of our continuing mitigation efforts, we have decided to delay the start of in-person instruction by one additional week. This means that the first two weeks of classes for all students (both graduate and undergraduate) will be remote-only (February 1-12), and in-person classes will begin on Monday, February 15.

Tartan COVID-19 Asymptomatic Testing Program: January Update
I am pleased to provide additional information about the Tartan COVID-19 Asymptomatic Testing Program, which President Jahanian announced in December. The Tartan Testing Program uses a new, regulated on-campus laboratory to better support our strategy to detect and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
