Last Chance to Schedule a Vaccine Appointment Through the Giant Eagle/CMU Partnership

Dear Members of the Carnegie Mellon University Community:

Last week, we offered opportunities for COVID-19 vaccinations through our community partners. Today, we write with a reminder related to one of these efforts.

Giant Eagle @Heinz Field

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 20, is the last day to register for Giant Eagle’s dedicated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine appointments for our Carnegie Mellon community at Heinz Field on April 26 and 27.

The Pfizer vaccine, available for ages 16 and above, requires two doses. Second dose appointments will be scheduled at the same venue for May 17 and 18. If you are interested in this opportunity, please ensure you will be available to receive your second dose.

Appointment confirmation and follow-up communication will come directly from Giant Eagle, including information regarding how to cancel or reschedule.

Transportation to Heinz Field

As an added convenience, the university is providing shuttles between campus and Heinz Field for those who do not have access to transportation. To sign up for transportation, please complete this form after you schedule your vaccine appointment. Those who request transportation will receive follow-up communication with further details.

For those who signed up to receive the Pfizer vaccine at Allegheny Health Network’s vaccination clinic at Pittsburgh Mills tomorrow, details about transportation and appointment confirmation were sent to you via email last week from drbc@andrew.cmu.edu. Should you have any additional questions, please email us.

Thank you for your tremendous response to our vaccination outreach. It is heartening to see growing access to vaccine appointments in the region. If you have not yet received your vaccine, we encourage you to use this vaccination tool provided by the Commonwealth.

Sincerely,
