Hybrid Teaching Spaces

For fall of 2020, all teaching spaces requiring hybrid instruction will be upgraded with conference cameras and room microphones. This will allow both in-person and remote (IPR) students to learn, collaborate and participate in a classroom environment while adhering to social distancing guidelines.

There are a limited number of rooms with resident video conferencing capabilities already in place. These VC rooms have room level cameras and audience microphones installed. The VC rooms require different setup and usage guidelines (see list of native VC rooms and guidance here).

CMU’s new hybrid learning spaces and technology are designed to extend your normal classroom activities to remote students in any scheduled location.
