Group X Fitness Classes

Admission at no cost to faculty and staff

On Oct. 1, 2018, all CMU faculty and staff gained access to Group X classes at no cost, along with undergraduate and graduate students. This new benefit is part of our series of campus-wide wellness initiatives.

Our Group X program offers aerobics-based and strength training exercise classes to the entire CMU community. The current Group X schedule consists of up to 60 weekly classes in fitness programs such as Zumba, high intensity interval training (HIIT), indoor cycling, yoga, kickboxing, dance and more. Personal training and golf, swimming and tennis lessons will now be purchased on a per-session basis.

The Athletics Department is in the process of expanding the Group X schedule, which will also provide classes in the brand new exercise studio in the Tepper Building.

To attend classes, all CMU faculty, staff and students will need to bring their valid CMU ID card, show their ID to the desk attendant at one of the fitness locations (Tepper fitness desk, Cohon equipment desk or Cohon University fitness desk) and indicate which class you wish to take.

FitBucks are no longer a part of the program. The Athletics Department will refund FitBucks to those with outstanding balances, and will set aside blocks of time for mass refund events.
