CHRS Director Jay Aronson Speaks at Harvard Kennedy School Symposium

CHRS Director Jay Aronson attended a symposium on “The Future of Human Rights: Technology and Fact-Finding in the 21st Century” at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government on November 3-4, 2016. The event brought together scientists and technologists, policy experts, human rights lawyers, and government officials to examine the ways that forensic science, geospatial technologies, and digital evidence can be integrated in human rights documentation and advocacy efforts moving forward. Aronson spoke about the challenges of integrating large volumes of digital evidence while investigating protester deaths during the 2013-14 Euromaidan protests in Ukraine. He also moderated a panel on the use of DNA identification in human rights investigations.
