Bio

Pam Wigley has worked in the communications/public relations industry for 30+ years – most recently in higher education, where she is the top PR strategist for Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Fine Arts. A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Wigley earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and served as a reporter for The Pittsburgh Press and the Beaver County Times before moving into health care public relations.

She worked for the health system that is now the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and eventually became director of the Creative Services group at the Allegheny Health, Education and Research Foundation (AHERF), which encompassed health care facilities in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia metro regions. It is now the Allegheny Health Network, anchored by Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Wigley then moved to corporate public relations with the H.J. Heinz Company, joining the organization as internal communications manager and working her way to the World Headquarters office, where she served as company spokesman and corporate communications manager.

Wigley moved into higher education public relations as director of public relations at La Roche College in Pittsburgh in 2006, and while there she earned her master's degree in human resource management. She joined Citizens Bank of Pennsylvania as vice president/senior manager of Public Affairs, Pittsburgh, in 2010. Wigley returned to higher education as director of Public & Media Relations for Carnegie Mellon University's College of Fine Arts in April 2012.

Working with the team of communicators within the academic schools and programs of the College of Fine Arts, Wigley works to tell the positive stories taking place among faculty, staff, students and alumni.
