Signature Event Series
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Remembrance Celebrations
Each year, Carnegie Mellon University commemorates Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by bringing the community together to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy and the ongoing work of advancing racial equity and social justice. Through keynote lectures, conversations and other educational and commemorative events, the series encourages reflection, dialogue and action inspired by Dr. King’s vision.
Juneteenth Freedom Day Keynote and Celebrations
Hosted by the Office of the Vice Provost for Community, Culture and Engagement, this event series offers strategic, meaningful, and transformative opportunities for staff, faculty, and students to celebrate Juneteenth. Through interactive educational programming, discussions, and community gatherings, the series invites the campus community to build knowledge, cultivate reflection, and honor the historical significance and enduring legacy of Emancipation.
Pride Celebrations
Each year, Carnegie Mellon University brings the campus community together to celebrate Pride and recognize LGBTQIA+ history, experiences and contributions. Through keynote lectures, community conversations and other educational and commemorative events, these celebrations foster greater understanding, connection and inclusion.
