Carnegie Mellon Facility Management

The goal of the project is to provide a web-based interface integrating BAS, service requests, and utility consumption information systems for Carnegie Mellon University Facility Management Service (CMU FMS).

The purpose is to develop an engaging interface for the CMU FMS team to efficiently manage service requests while improving indoor environmental quality, customer satisfaction, and reduce utility consumption.

Important efforts in the project will include how CMU FMS manage their daily work orders, how to prioritize the importance and urgency of each log from both complain calls and BAS sensor alarms, and how the interface could reduce the team’s workload and encourage them to take action on improving customer satisfaction and energy and water efficiency by providing only the essential information they need.
