C@CM Grades

Pre-Assessments - 4%

You will receive 4% toward your overall grade for completing the Pre-Assessments for each unit. The Pre-Assessments will be graded for completeness, not performance; meaning that you will receive credit for completing the Pre-Assessments regardless of how well you perform on the assessment. We expect that your Pre-Assessment scores will be low because you haven't received any instruction on the learning objectives being assessed at the time that you complete them.

Learning Activities - 10%

You will receive 10% toward your overall grade for completing the Did I Get This? (DIGT) and Learn By Doing (LBD) learning activities throughout the Open Learning Initiative (OLI) course exposition. The DIGT and LBD grades will be based on participation, not performance - you'll get credit for completing the activities regardless of how many activities you complete correctly. Additionally, C@CM reserves the right to add participation in recitations and discussion questions to the learning activities percentage.

Attendance - 5%

Attendance at weekly C@CM recitations is required and will be worth 5% of your total grade.  Excused absences are available only if you provide documentation for your university-approved absence.

Exam-Readiness Quizzes - 20%

20% of your overall course grade will come from completing the Exam-Readiness Quizzes before you take the exam. These quizzes will be graded on your performance, taking the highest score of all attempts completed before the deadline.

Final Exam - 61%

The Final Exam will be the largest factor in determining your overall course grade at 61%.  Make-up exams will not be proctored without documentation for a university-approved absence.

Overall Course Grade

Your overall grade must be at least 75% in order to pass the course.

Early Access Grading Rubric

Because attendance is not required during Early Access to the course over the summer and winter break, the Early Access rubric is altered to the following:

  • Pre-Assessments - 4%
  • Learning Activities - 10%
  • Exam-Readiness Quizzes - 20%
  • Final Exam - 66%
