Bio

Sanmoy Karmakar is a junior majoring in Information Systems with interests in Finance and Big Data. His interest with information systems began when he served as a finance research assistant. He learned how to better understand financial/macroeconomic data using techniques with Python and R, enjoying the project-like experience of the work. After understanding how to interpret data, he wanted to explore how these major financial transactions came to fruition. As a result, Sanmoy interned with Citigroup as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst, supporting the Power and Healthcare groups with ongoing deals. Sanmoy seeks a career in investment banking while still looking to apply his technical skills.

When he is not busy looking at financial markets or working on side-projects, he likes to play on the club volleyball team and find new restaurants to experience.
