Bio

Karen is a fourth-year student majoring in information systems and minoring in human computer interaction and business at Carnegie Mellon University. Coming from New York, a suburban setting like Pittsburgh challenged her to adapt to her surroundings. Her interest in technology began during her time in high school when learning about computer science and coming to Carnegie Mellon only furthered her interests. Along the way, she discovered UX/UI design as a future career path to integrate with her knowledge of information systems. This summer, she interned at PLUS as a UX/UI designer and at DahilaNY as a database intern.

In the future, Karen hopes to find a full-time position that she is passionate about and be able to pursue her hobbies in fashion and dance in her free time. She loves when she can spend a peaceful afternoon relaxing and reading inside or spending time outside with friends running on the field. Through her prior experience TAing another course and her outgoing energy, she hopes to teach incoming students the ways of Carnegie Mellon just as she had explored when she first arrived on campus.
