Bio

Edward Chen is a rising-senior studying Information Systems at Carnegie Mellon University. Edward grew up in China before coming to college in the US. The multi-dimensional cultural environment enriched his vision and helped him become more open minded.

While he spent his first three years of college exploring different interests ranging from business to quantitative trading, he eventually decided to pursue a career in software engineering. His decision came after talking to an almost fatherly figure, who helped him understood that he enjoys the nature of problem solving involved in programming. He also learnt that with the ability to create unique products, he can make positive impacts through recognizing opportunities and potential markets. Inspired by his newly consolidated passion, Edward is working with a healthcare start-up to build a web application for the company. In the future, he wants to use his knowledge and experience to create products for people in need.

When he is not busy working, Edward likes to watch Formula 1 racing, where he enjoyed the perfect balance of individual talent and team work and put this value to his personal work.
