Bio

Abirami (Abi) Elangovan is a senior majoring in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering. They have been a TA for C@CM since their junior year. As a result of having moved many times throughout high school, Abi understands how difficult the start of college can be for freshman. They hope to make the transition as seamless as possible, and encourage students to come to them with any issues or for advice.

They have been an undergraduate research assistant with the Cook Cardiopulmonary Lab on campus since their sophomore year. Over this past summer, they interned at Johnson & Johnson in California, working in the flexible robotics R&D division. They plan on pursuing a career in the biomedical field in artificial organs, prostheses, and related medical devices. In their free time, Abirami spends time drawing and writing, and hopes to publish a comic at some point.
