Expanded Financial Aid Authorization in My Plaid Student
A change is coming to My Plaid Student authorizations related to financial aid. Effective Feb. 2, 2024, the access permission for viewing a financial aid award letter in MPS will include an expanded scope of related financial aid information.
In addition to a student's financial aid offer, this information may include documents received as part of their financial aid application, missing documents related to their application, and information about whether a CSS Profile and/or a FAFSA has been received, as well as the ability to upload a document onto the student's financial aid record and to submit relevant forms.
Students who do not want their authorized user to have this expanded access to their financial aid record, are advised to log in to Student Information Online (SIO) and take the following steps:
- Navigate to your 'My Info' page and select 'Family & Friends'
- Under the individual for whom you want to update permission, select the 'Manage MPS' button
- Uncheck the box next to ‘View Financial Aid Award Letter'
- This permission option will change to 'View Financial Aid Information' beginning Feb. 2
- Select the 'Submit' button to save
