Email and Calendar
No matter what you do at Carnegie Mellon, email will help you stay connected. Carnegie Mellon uses the Cyrus electronic mail system. Cyrus is based on standard Internet protocols. The protocols used are Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP4), Post Office Protocol (POP3), and Multi-purpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) for enclosures.
In addition to email, campus affiliates benefit from using the Andrew Calendar time-management tool. Andrew Calendar gives you the ability to schedule meetings and resources with other Carnegie Mellon associates. Excluding its regular service maintenance window, Andrew Calendar is available 24/7. The Andrew Calendar desktop client runs on Windows, MacOS and Unix-based platforms. You can access your calendar from a web browser using the Andrew Calendar Web client. Calendar synchronization is also supported on iPhone and Windows Mobile devices using SyncML software.
