CMWA President's Welcome
Welcome to the Carnegie Mellon Women’s Association!
This year, the Carnegie Mellon Women’s Association (CMWA) celebrates its 100th anniversary of providing connection, support, and awards to faculty, staff and students. We are delighted that you have joined us and trust that the benefits of membership will exceed your expectations. If you are not already a member, you can join today!
The CMWA was formed by a group of visionary women in 1916 and has spent 100 years supporting faculty, staff, partners, and students in scholarship, community, connections, and friendships of Carnegie Mellon University. Today, the CMWA’s membership is at an all-time high and we have special educational and networking events planned for this Centennial year. In addition, we aim to mark our Centennial year by awarding 7 outstanding graduating women from all 7 CMU colleges with $1,000 awards to begin their next steps in excellence as they graduate.
Member benefits in FY16 include not only the Centennial pins and tote bags, but also invitations to CMWA events – brown bag educational lunches, the annual Fall Reception Tea at the CMU president’s home, networking events, preferred seating at the CMU holiday concert, and our annual student awards reception in the Spring.
We strive to keep you informed, involved, and excited about our events through the CMWA member list serve, our webpage, our Facebook page, and our the monthly CMWA newsletter. We look forward to our best year yet this Centennial year!
