Bio

Dr. Seth Goldstein is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department within the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on ensembles, i.e. systems with numerous interacting components, and aims to design scalable systems for large-scale applications. He has worked on projects in reconfigurable computing, molecular-scale devices, and programmable matter, including the PipeRench, Phoenix, and Claytronics initiatives.

Currently, he investigates compilers, computer architecture, the future of work, and new monetary systems, with a specific project, BoLT, aimed at creating equitable funding and trading mechanisms for small and disadvantaged borrowers. He is the principal investigator of the CMU ACE-AI center of excellence.
