Issues that matter to SCS staff.

SCS Dean's Staff Advisory Committee

The SCS Dean's Staff Advisory Committee was created as a standing committee for the purpose of working with and advising the Dean. The Committee shall limit its activities to advising on matters that are of concern to SCS staff. The Committee is formed to give advice and recommendations to the Dean or his or her designated appointee(s).

Our committee is composed of one to three staff members from each department within the school. Committee members serve a term of 3 years with the ability to be re-nominated and re-elected. View our full membership or visit the SCS Dean's Office website to learn more about all of the Dean's Advisory Committees.

Surveys Results

One way the committee receives feedback is through surveys. We wish to learn about the issues that are broadly affecting our staff as well as receiving ideas about how we can make improvements. You can find our latest survey results below.

Subcommittees

Each member of the committee will choose a subcommittee to join. Subcommittees will ensure we are using our time wisely and stay equally engaged in addressing the concerns that impact us the most and/or are passionate about. See below our subcommittees, their missions, and what they are currently focused on.

Mission: This committee serves as a trusted channel for staff to share sensitive concerns in a confidential environment. We provide a space where employees can be heard freely, and give optional guidance when requested. We function as an additional resource for staff who have already attempted to resolve issues through management channels without satisfactory resolution, offering support and assistance in navigating next steps.

Current members:
Amelia Baisley, HCII (3 years at CMU)
Krista Dichiera, Dean’s Office (9 years at CMU)
Julie Nys, LTI (4 years at CMU)
