Carnegie Mellon University

The Sustainability Studio

A space dedicated to sustainability.

All are welcome! The Sustainability Studio is a first-of-its-kind space that unites the university to further our commitment to sustainability. Centrally located in Hunt Library, it’s not only a place for resources and guidance, it’s a designated area for connection, discussion and collaboration across disciplines—to bring the CMU community together in pursuit of a more equitable future.

In the studio, you can:

  • Connect with experts and learn about current and potential programming.
  • Find inspiration to incorporate the Global Goals into your work.
  • Share and discuss ideas related to the Global Goals.
  • Take full advantage of the space! Use the studio as a place to gather.

Office Hours

We host office hours so anyone can come by and meet our director of Sustainability Initiatives and campus partners, who will be available to answer questions, share information and discuss your ideas.

Open Sustainability Studios

Throughout the year, we organize a series of open sustainability studios, each focused on a subset of Global Goals. During each open studio, groups share their work, facilitating discussions and identifying opportunities for students, faculty and staff to collaborate.

Informal, Ad Hoc Programming

We bring together members of the university community to talk about their contributions to sustainability. See what’s coming up.
