Parking Information

The East Campus Garage will be available only to inauguration guests and leaseholders on Friday, October 26. Please bring an email or print invitation to present at the garage gate to gain entry.

Parking on Frew Street will be restricted on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26.

Air and Rail Transportation

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT):

The Pittsburgh International Airport is 22 miles (approximately 45 minutes driving time) from the Oakland area where the Carnegie Mellon campus is located. For more information, please visit FlyPittsburgh or call 412-472-3525 for airport information.

Amtrak (PGH):

The Pittsburgh Amtrak station (Union Station) is located at 1100 Liberty Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. Take the Northeast rail directly to Pittsburgh station (PGH). Book your travel on Amtrak's website.

Ground Transportation

There are several ground transportation options to bring you to campus or to your hotel:

Taxi service: The following companies service the Pittsburgh area:

The average taxi fare from the airport to CMU is about $40-$45, plus gratuity. The taxi pick-up location is located outside Baggage Claim Door #4.

Please note: traditional taxi service outside the airport is very limited.

Rideshare programs: There are three on-demand ridesharing companies in Pittsburgh:

Uber, Lyft and zTrip airport pick-up is located outside of Baggage Claim Door #4.

Car Service: CMU has negotiated rates with the following executive car service companies:

A Limousine Service, Inc. (412-782-5466) - $75.20 airport transfer; $60 hourly in-town rate*
Regency Transportation Group (412-321-6800) - $83 airport transfer*

*For negotiated rates mention that you're attending a CMU event. Rates do not include additional wait time.

Super Shuttle: This shared ride van service provides transportation between the airport and Pittsburgh-area hotels. A one-way shared (multi-stop) ride is approximately $27 for downtown and $36 for Oakland.

Hotel Shuttle Service: Many hotels in the Oakland area offer a complimentary shuttle service from the hotel to Carnegie Mellon.

Confirm hotel shuttle service availability when making your reservations or at check-in.
