SUCCEED is a 5-day program run by the Center for Climate Change and Energy Decision Making. The annual program connects EPP Ph.D. students with high school students, to improve their understanding of energy, the environment, and climate change, and is designed to open students’ minds and encourage them to seek careers in climate, energy, and other STEM fields. Students learn about some of the grand challenges facing energy engineering fields, how new technology can play a role in mitigating climate change, that all energy options have tradeoffs, and that policy can be used to effect change.
The 2016 program is being held on July 18 to July 22, from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm on Carnegie Mellon's campus.
This week, the Summer Center for Climate, Energy, and Environmental Decision Making (SUCCEED) kicks off with 5 full days of activities, lectures and field trips designed to teach local high school students how they can effect the planet's climate for the better.
