Bio
Matt Harbaugh co-founded and currently serves as Managing Director at Mountain State Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm with a portfolio of high-growth companies in the greater Appalachian region. In addition, he also founded and serves as the Executive Director of the U.S. Research Impact Alliance, a nonprofit working to advance the commercialization of energy and climate-related innovations throughout the United States. Mr. Harbaugh’s previous roles include serving as the CEO of a Carnegie-Mellon University spinout that was acquired by Facebook and serving as the Chief Investment Officer at Innovation Works, Inc., one of the most active seed-stage investors in the United States. Mr. Harbaugh received J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the George Washington University and his undergraduate degree from Duke University.
