New Wireless Network for the New Year

Returning from break with a new Xbox or Amazon Echo? Hoping to get your Roku hooked up before the Season 3 premier of Stranger Things?

Don’t worry. We’ve got you covered! CMU-DEVICE is a new wireless network on campus reserved exclusively for your smart devices that typically do not support web browsers or login (authentication) capabilities. This includes your gaming consoles, media players, electronic personal assistants, smart home systems, and more.

Getting connected is a simple, one-time process that will only take a few minutes to complete. Go to our Device Registration Tool, select the wireless option, and follow the onscreen instructions.

For computers, smart phones, and other devices supported by browsers or login capabilities, you will still want to connect wirelessly using the preferred CMU-SECURE network. And of course, you always have the option to connect to our extensive wired network in residence halls, and academic or administrative buildings across campus.

CMU’s new wireless network – a new way to stay connected in the New Year!
