Margaret Morrison Has Reopened; Giant Eagle Auditorium Remains Flooded

Margaret Morrison Carnegie Hall has been reopened and declared safe after being temporarily closed due to flooding caused by the heavy rains. However, the Giant Eagle Auditorium in the new wing of Baker Hall remains flooded.

On Friday heavy rains to the Pittsburgh area, caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ivan, flooded Margaret Morrison and the new wing of Baker Hall, causing these areas to be closed.

Due to the storm, the Carnegie Mellon main campus is operating on a single power feed. Please be aware of the potential for loss of power should this line be compromised.

Anyone experiencing difficulties due to the weather conditions should contact University Police at 412-268-2323.
