Heavy Rains Have Caused Flooding in Campus Buildings; Margaret Morrison Has Been Temporarily Closed

As of 6 p.m., Friday, September 17, the heavy rains have resulted in the flooding of a variety of campus buildings. The Margaret Morrison academic building has been closed temporarily as a precautionary measure.

While Carnegie Mellon is currently operating on a single power feed serving the main campus, please be aware of the potential for loss of power should this line be compromised. Students, faculty and staff are urged to recognize the potential seriousness of the forecasted storms and to take due precautions to stay safe. Unnecessary travel, by vehicle or foot, poses some potential risk should the rains continue.

It is clearly the university's ambition and expectation to maintain all university services. The campus community will be notified of any evolving concerns via this Web site.

If you have any difficulty, please don't hesitate to contact the Campus Police at 412-268-2323.
