Traffic Alert: Street Closings & Parking Restrictions

The following message is from Creig Doyle, chief of University Police.

OAKLAND STREET CLOSINGS - Tuesday, August 24, 2004

On Tuesday, August 24, 2004, approximately 1,500 Carnegie Mellon freshmen students will be moving into their residence halls for the start of the fall semester. To accommodate this move, two city streets that cut through the southern portion of the university campus will be closed to all through traffic between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. The affected streets include the following:

  • 5100 block of Margaret Morrison Street, between Forbes Avenue & Tech Street
  • 100 block of Tech Street, between Margaret Morrison St. & Schenley Drive.

In addition, there will be no parking from 12:01 a.m. to 12:59 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 24, on Margaret Morrison Street, Tech Street and Frew Street. Violators will be towed.
