Power Outage Update: Power Restored to Doherty, Scaife, Roberts and Purnell

Power has been restored to four of the 10 buildings affected in today’s (June 29) power outage. Those buildings now with power are Doherty Hall, Scaife Hall, Roberts Hall and the Purnell Center for the Arts.

Power still remains out in the following six campus buildings, which will remain closed for safety reasons until power is restored. Buildings without power are:

  • Newell-Simon Hall
  • Smith Hall
  • Hamburg Hall
  • 4902 Forbes Ave. (Old Student Center)
  • Printing & Publications Building
  • Planetary Robotics Building

Power to the above six structures is expected to be restored sometime on Wednesday, June 30.

At 11:04 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, portions of the university lost power when a transformer shorted and blew fuses that served 10 campus buildings. There were no personal injuries and no damage to any of the campus structures.
