IT Entrepreneurship Concentration

The IT Entrepreneurship is covering both the IT entrepreneurship and the ICT4D (ICT for development) areas
  • In IT entrepreneurship, students learn the business aspects of the IT field and the characteristics and responsibilities of successful entrepreneurs and business professionals. It will allow students to more readily identify, analyze, and develop opportunities for the creation of new products and services in the IT field.
  • In the ICT4D area, students are prepared to apply information and communication technologies to solve problems in underserved communities. 

What skills will the student accquire?

  1. Understand the process leading an idea from an invention to a successful market product
  2. Develop a business strategy for a real company
  3. Acquire understanding  of major new IT product and services
  4. Develop a mobile service concept and produced a plan with a business model
  5. Analyze a  company income statement and balance sheet
  6. Understand how to build and manage a startup team
  7. Assess community needs and weigh the technology, economic, and cultural factors that affect ICT adoption and success.
  8. Implement ICT projects at all levels.
  9. Work with multidisciplinary teams in the creation, funding, deployment and evaluation of development solutions.
