Bio

Yufan (Derek) Zhou graduated from the University of California - Los Angeles, double majoring in Data Theory and Economics. Before joining the MSCF Program, he had quant research experience in top private equity and asset management firms, where he applied statistics and machine learning to develop multiple alpha strategies, which are incorporated into the company's overall investing model. From past quant research experience, he not only gained an interdisciplinary understanding of data science and finance but also comprehended the importance of applying machine learning to finance with subtlety. He joined the MSCF program to strengthen his quantitative skills and sharpen his market intuition. Yufan plans to pursue a career in quantitative research or trading after graduation.
