Bio

Pengfei graduated from University of California, San Diego in 2022 majored in Applied Mathematics. During his undergraduate study, he was amazed by how creative mindset could tackle complex real-world problems elegantly with the help of mathematical tools. Hence, he completed courses in probability/statistics, including one graduate level course, to learn about theoretical concepts as well as to gain hands-on experience from Computational Statistics. In addition, Pengfei likes taking up challenges to improve problem-solving skills. He loved solving Rubik’s Cube in his spare time, which required concentration, pattern recognition, and perseverance. Over the summer before Pengfei joined MSCF, he interned at Super Quantum Capital Management, which headquartered in Hongkong, as an equity Alpha Researcher. Such experience not only exposed him to market behaviors that individual traders were not able to observe, but also trained him in applying various statistical tools in practice. His passion in participating in more complex problems led him to join the MSCF program, where he would have the opportunity to collaborate with the most brilliant minds and explore most recent technologies in the industry. Upon graduation, he intends to contribute his knowledge in quantitative research and trading.
