Bio

Yijia (Daisy) Yang graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. During her undergraduate study, she became interested in the quant field and actively gained experience through related courses and internships. She replicated quant strategies in course projects, unitizing Math, Statistics, and Python programming. Project topics include Natural Language Processing, Neural Networks, and Time Series Prediction. With solid knowledge, she sought hands-on experience via two internships. At China Securities, she worked on Quantamental Investing, constructing timing strategies for China’s chemical industry. Two weekly rebalanced portfolios achieved a 15% annualized return. At Zhong An Ding Sheng Fund, a 3 billion CNY hedge fund, she researched a gradient boosting model and applied it to predict return in the Alpha Strategy framework. These experiences have strengthened her quantitative competency and problem-solving skills. Daisy joined the MSCF Program to enrich her knowledge and be ready to pursue a career in quantitative research.
