Planning and Design

CDFD manages planning for the long term direction for CMU’s physical and built environment as well as the planning and design of individual buildings and renovations.   CDFD is responsible for meeting with neighborhood associations to gather feedback on university projects and Institutional Master Plan.  We also manage the design process working with the internal CMU community members that are impacted directly and indirectly by planning and design projects.  CDFD also works with design teams to navigate the permitting process with the City of Pittsburgh zoning and permits and license department.
