Real Estate Leases and Space Requests
CDFD coordinates the university's real estate leasing and space acquisition process. All requests for space including leases (new leases, amendments and renewals to existing leases) must go through the University Space Committee for approval prior to beginning the process of negotiating a lease or acquiring additional program space. The Space Committee meets monthly, so please request space with significant advance notice to allow for approval, review by all necessary departments and negotiation with the landlord.
Real Estate Lease Routing Form
All university leases should use the Real Estate Lease routing form. The form is designed to guarantee that all of the Carnegie Mellon offices required to review a lease have approved the lease document before it is submitted to the Chief Financial Officer for signature on behalf of Carnegie Mellon.
