Ramzi Ramsey, Managing Director, Blackstone Growth

Fostering Future-Positive Growth

Ramzi Ramsey (TPR 2007) loves to fuel and foster growth.

Since 2021, he’s been able to do just that as a growth equity investor with industry-leader Blackstone Growth (BXG), helping enterprise software and fintech companies become global champions.

“Our goal is to find great companies with proven business models that can benefit from the capital and strategic resources of Blackstone to help them reach the next level,” Ramzi says. “It’s a type of investing that I'm very proud of because fundamentally, we're about expanding a company’s operations, broadening its geographic footprint, adding new product lines — all things that can benefit the employees, customers and anyone that interacts with these businesses.”

BXG focuses on larger, established companies —  typically with more than $100M revenue —  that have grown beyond the startup stage but could benefit from the scale and support of a firm like Blackstone. BXG seeks to be the first institutional investor brought into these companies, chosen by a company’s founders for what it can offer their businesses.

Prior to joining BXG, Ramzi has partnered with consumer companies including Zillow, SeatGeek, Rover and Nerdy. He has also led enterprise software investments in businesses like Qualtrics, Automation Anywhere, Ion and OneTrust. At BXG, he led investments in Cloudinary, Dynamo and Hotel Engine primarily through the firm’s $4.5 billion fund, the largest first-time growth equity private fund in history.

His year-over-year success also gained him recognition in 2022 as a Top 10 Software Investor by GrowthCap and as a three-time Top 40 Under 40 Growth Equity Investor by GrowthCap since 2019.

Ramzi remains on the lookout for businesses and products that can change the world as well as established brands with great stories that can be even greater with help from his team.

“Moving ahead, we’ll continue to focus on founder-owned businesses and bootstrapped companies and help those companies make an even more meaningful impact in our world.”
