Meditation and mindfulness have been shown to help people stress less, focus more and even sleep better. Headspace is one tool for mindful living. Student Affairs Wellness Initiatives is proud to offer current CMU students, faculty and staff a free subscription to Headspace – a mindfulness tool that leverages meditation, asleep, focus, and movement to improve your health and happiness.
All current CMU community members, including students, faculty and staff, can redeem a full Headspace subscription.

Develop a meditation practice by trying the 10-day beginner’s course called the Basics that will teach you the essentials of meditation in Meditate Mode.
Integrate mindfulness into your fitness routine with the Get Moving 30-Day Program in Move Mode.
Create a wind down routine with Wind Down meditations, paired with your favorite Sleepcast.

The College Community
The College Community is a safe and secure app created for CMU students to engage in the CMU community remotely, by giving you ways to make new friends, stay connected to university events, collaborate with classmates, and access resources. Events posted on The Bridge page will be featured on the College Community app.
Student Affairs Wellness Initiatives is partnering this year with Wellnest, a wellness journaling app. Wellnest is available in the App Store. It is currently free to current CMU students through spring semester 2021 if you use your @andrew.cmu.edu email address to register.
Wellnest is powered by your voice. You can explore topics relevant to you and answer guided prompts to build a rewarding mindfulness habit. The app also allows you to:
- Respond to daily and evening conversations
- Explore guided content on topics like productivity and imposter syndrome
- Check-in on your mood throughout the day
- Review basic journaling statistics
- Earn rewards and personalize your journal
